Workers Compensation Requirements
NYS requires every worker be covered by compensation insurance.
Independent contractors must have their own coverages and provide a certificate as proof of compliance. Otherwise, the owner will be billed for coverages by NYS.
Business owners may exempt themselves if they have disability coverages.
